  • How many students attend SUU SUCCESS Academy, and how many are new?

    • 2019/2020 Year: 204 total students, 73 of those were new students.
    • 2018/2018 Year: 217 total students, 70 of those were new students.
    • 2017/2018 Year: 212 total students, 65 of those were new students.
  • How much does SUCCESS Academy cost?

    There are no special tuition costs. SUCCESS Academy fees are outlined in the Fee Schedule. Students are required to pay collegiate lab fees, university textbooks, and any additional required collegiate learning materials. Students who qualify to take college courses will receive tuition waivers during their SUCCESS Academy high school experience.

  • Who can attend SUCCESS Academy?

    SUU SUCCESS Academy is a four-year charter high school. UT SUCCESS Academy is a three-year charter high school. Both are open-enrollment schools. If applications exceed the limited number of student seats available, a lottery will determine enrollment. This lottery follows the Utah State Office of Education and Federal Charter School lottery guidelines.

  • How are students selected?

    All 8th graders (Iron County only) and 9th graders (Washington County) are eligible to apply in January prior to their 9th (Iron County) or 10th (Washington County) grade year. Also, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students can apply if there are slots available. To the extent possible, the student body will be similar to the demographics of the attendance area from which students are drawn. If there are more applications than slots available a lottery is held to determine enrollment.
    SUCCESS Academy is a four-year charter high school and is an open-enrollment school. If applications exceed the limited number of student seats available, a lottery will determine enrollment. This lottery will follow Utah State Office of Education lottery guidelines. However, we encourage parents and students to review the mission of SUCCESS Academy and ensure their student is ready for the rigor of this Early College High School.

  • Where is SUCCESS Academy located?

    SUCCESS Academy is located on two campuses. Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah and Utah Tech University in Saint George, Utah. Students also attend classes at their boundary high schools for a portion of their day.

  • Where will SUCCESS Academy students graduate?

    SUCCESS Academy students who graduate with an Associate Degree will walk at SUU or UTU during their regular graduation ceremony. All students graduating with a SUCCESS Academy high school diploma will have the option of walking through graduation at the boundary high school. SUCCESS Academy also honors their graduates at Night of Excellence (Click here for information about SUU's Night of Excellence or UT's Night of Excellence).

  • What are the extracurricular opportunities available?

    Students participate in extracurricular activities at their boundary high schools. SUCCESS Academy offers no extracurricular activities but does offer many clubs in science, math, student government, technology, and English. SUCCESS also has activities for students such as quarterly activities (barbecues, game days, dance offs, holiday activities) and dances. Students participate in Sterling Scholar and other clubs at their boundary high schools.
